"I'll have a scoop of ice cream with my frustration, please."

I have a dry erase marker behind one ear and a pencil behind another: today has been a hectic fury already and yet it has been only quite full of the monotonous routine that most days entail. I feel as though I haven't merely calmed down for a messily moment since Saturday afternoon, yet I would have welcomed The Calm with open arms.

For the past week we've all been preparing for this particular weekend, and the reason is that Jack's seventh birthday party was yesterday afternoon. Everyone and their third cousin came (literally) as well as nearly my entire family. It was held at our local pool because the weather was supposed to be lovely, yet toward the end we got a fabulous severe thunder storm with winds of who knew how tremendous. We were under a mere awning-type of shelter with no walls...so, well, you get the point.
However, Jack ended up being happy with his gifts and his cake (oh, the joys of childhood), and settled for running around in his brand new Bumblebee (Transformers) costume once he returned home and the storm had passed.

Although not quite a blogworthy topic, I had mentioned before that I would be going to get a new pair of glasses before school began come August. Well, this morning I had an eye exam and picked out not one, but two pair of glasses that were a mere $18 each! Booyah! Of course they will cost more once the price of the lenses are added - but still! :P
I'll have to show you once I retrieve them, but both pair are thick, dark rimmed.
I dig them, obviously.

On a more lame note, my guidance counselor at school called today about my scheduling. My mom had contacted her the week before letting her know that I wanted to change around and she was getting back with me today. I was out and about at the time so the phone call was short, but she let me know that there was a problem with me getting into Creative Writing and Introduction to Philosophy. In fact, Intro. to Philosophy isn't even offered this year (shouldn't they just leave it out of the booklet then? :P), so I have to come up with a new class to take. I was really, really, REALLY looking forward to that class above all others, too. Hmph.
The problem with Creative Writing is that it is held at the same time as Journalism I, so unless I have Hermione's Time Turner, I'm screwed. I have to choose between those two classes, both of which I was really looking forward to!

So far I have picked Etymology (study of words), Astronomy, and then I still have Creative Writing on the board. I'm leaning towards that end of the spectrum more than Journalism, for I can take that my Senior year even though I'd rather take it this year...I suppose (if you can tell my thought process is still working as I'm writing this so just take all of this with a grain of salt).
I still have to pick one more if I knock out Journalism I & II, and that is if they all work out right, which they may or may not do.

Okay. I'll just let you all know what happens with that after it all happens, for if it's hurting my head I know it must be hurting yours :P

That's about all that has been going on around here.
I hope you all have a wonderful week :D

xo,
hk

Happy birthday to Jack! :) At least the thunderstorm didn't succeed in completely ruining everything and he was still happy. I miss being that little and carefree!

Yay! I am looking forward to seeing your new glasses :D They sound pretty nifty!

That sucks that Intro to Philosophy was taken away! And that you have to choose between the two classes.... I hate when stupid scheduling just doesn't want to work out. Hermione's Time Turner would definitely be an amazing item to have!

And yay, I love that song :)

Too bad about the scheduling conflict! Oh well just another "little" annoyance from life. And a belated happy birthday to Jack, sounds like he had a good party. Hope your week has started off real good for ya."hugs"

Hahah, I laughed at the time-turner thing. Too bad they all got smashed when Harry and crew broke into the Department of Mysteries...

It sucks that you can't work out your schedule. You guys have etymology as a class?! That's so cool! I love that stuff, it's why I take Latin :P

Oh my god, I wish I had those courses at my school. I'm fairly sure I would die of happiness XD Etymology?? Seriously? That is just too awesome. I have to wait til university before I can take anything remotely interesting...
